Ho‘oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness that has been passed down through generations. Traditionally, it was used in families and communities to restore harmony when conflicts arose. A respected elder or kahuna (healer) would guide the process, bringing together all involved to speak openly, acknowledge wrongs, and release resentment. The word itself means “to make right” or “to correct,” and the essence of the practice is to realign relationships with love, humility, and forgiveness, so that balance could return to both individuals and the community as a whole.
In more recent times, Ho‘oponopono has been adapted into a personal spiritual practice centered on taking full responsibility for one’s inner world. One of the best-known modern versions was taught by Morrnah Simeona, a Hawaiian kahuna who reshaped it into a self-healing tool. Her student, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, helped bring it to wider audiences by teaching that when we heal ourselves, we heal the world around us. At the heart of the practice is a simple mantra—“I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”—which invites cleansing, forgiveness, and love. Through this, Ho‘oponopono continues to live as a bridge between ancient Hawaiian wisdom and modern spiritual growth.
I use these songs to practice Ho'oponopono. Instead of repeated the lines to myself I immerse myself in a meditative state while listening to the songs, or the Ocean subluminals and focusing on whatever or whomever I want to apply the technique to. It's absolutely amazing and transformational. I release these songs I created for free use by everyone. You are free to distribute these as well without attribution.
